The astronomical spring of 2025 will begin on March 20 at 10:01 AM, and to mark the occasion, the Play Sustain Foundation has planned a spring cleanup. This Thursday, on Wybrzeże Kościuszkowskie in Warsaw, a Boot Camp for upcycling fashion designers – the finalists of the Designers Play Sustain 2025 competition – will take place.
Boot Camp for designers – a way to build awareness, not just consumption
A month ago, the finalists of the Designers Play Sustain competition, focused on the future of fashion, were selected by a jury led by Polish designer Mariusz Przybylski. This is the second edition of the event, which raises awareness of responsibility among both designers and consumers of fashion. Hundreds of participants competed in two categories – Upcycling Ready-2-Wear and Eco-Design Digital-2-AI. Nineteen designers made it to the finals. The Boot Camp, an intensive training session, will be their first meeting, and residents of the capital are also invited to take part.
The spring cleanup, scheduled for the morning (10:00–12:00), aims to highlight the invaluable role of water resources in our lives. Conscious fashion designers emphasize that we are drawing from a source that is not unlimited. We love fashion, and it is essential to understand that order should be based on values such as balance, mindfulness, and responsibility.
Minister Anita Sowińska from the Ministry of Climate and Environment, the honorary patron of the Designers Play Sustain 2025 competition, will take part in the event. The organizers have planned traditional cleanup activities and a joint walk, during which they will encourage discussions on the importance of water in the lives of Warsaw residents and ways to protect valuable resources that each of us can integrate into our daily routines. The Vistula River is an ecological corridor of great importance on both a national and European scale.
Everyone can shape the fashion market
Excessive water use in clothing production and textile dyeing threatens not only the fashion industry itself but also the health of entire ecosystems. Expansive industrial practices impact not only the environment but also the communities that depend on these resources. Raising awareness about the value of water, regardless of industry background, is crucial for the future of our planet. Our purchasing decisions have the power to shape the direction of fashion. Through conscious shopping and proper garment care, we can promote sustainable practices that use less water and generate a lower carbon footprint.
Join us, meet the finalists and leaders of circular fashion at Boot Camp. Become part of a community that not only cares about change in the fashion industry but also prioritizes the health of both people and the planet. Together, we can protect what is most precious – our natural resources. Warsaw deserves to be recognized as the capital of circular fashion.
Each of us can contribute to ensuring a better future for water resources. Come to Press Day and Boot Camp to learn how you can actively support this important cause. Together, we can not only revolutionize fashion but also protect our planet and its resources for future generations. Join the movement for sustainable fashion and be a part of the changes that will benefit both us and the Earth.
