The consequence of the combination of these phenomena is that soil moisture levels are far too low, making it difficult or impossible for plants to grow properly. The government has made provision for financial assistance to all those affected by the drought who meet certain conditions and and send an application through the drought application. How many applications have been received so far? According to a press release we received from the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, so far more than 251,000 have applied for drought aid. agricultural producers. This data comes from the administrator of the “Report Agricultural Damage” application, which is the only way to officially express interest in compensation. Does this mean that the acceptance of applications has already ended?
Extension of drought application deadline again
The deadline for farmers to submit applications requesting drought damage assessments was October 30, 2023. It has already been postponed once, as we reported in the article: Drought aid – extension of application deadline to October 30, 2023. Numerous incoming requests from farmers’ organizations have prompted the government to once again extend the application period. All those who have not yet made it will have the opportunity to apply for compensation until November 17, 2023. In this regard, we remind you who can count on financial assistance. We also suggest what to keep in mind when filling out the application in the app. Correct completion of all data is one of the conditions for receiving assistance.
What does drought aid 2023 provide?
Farmers whose yields are reduced as a result of the 2023 drought can apply for financial assistance. That is, the loss was caused by the occurrence of a negative climatic water balance against the values assumed for individual crop species and soils in any six-decade period from March 21 to September 30. The aforementioned values and list of crops can be found in the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development’s regulation of April 11, 2019. For assistance in 2024. may also apply for farmers whose farms or special departments of agricultural production suffered damage caused by spring frost, hail or hurricane in 2023. Losses could affect fruit tree and strawberry crops. Compensation is due to farmers who lost 30-70 percent. crops.
How should the application be submitted?
In order to successfully apply for compensation, you must send an application through the drought application. It is not possible to provide documents in hard copy. For this purpose, an agricultural producer must have a trusted profile and submit an application for funds under the regulations on payments under direct support systems in the year in which the drought occurred. Each farmer has the right to replenish the losses of individual crops several times as the drought indicated by the Agricultural Drought Monitoring System covered them. This opportunity expires when the loss estimation request is signed with the trusted profile. The application can be sent only once. There is no way to go back to edit or add attachments, such as a policy.
Fallow crops and livestock
Drought is recorded only in the main crop, so the estimate does not include drought losses in fallow land, since the crop there is treated as non-productive. It is worth checking that all the data in the application is filled in and that all the plots are separated. The application for damage assessment includes, among other things. information on the number of animals kept on the farm. Therefore, when completing the data in the application, select the type of animals from the list and enter their number. If the species owned is covered by the provisions of the Law of November 4, 2022. on the system of identification and registration of animals, you need to enter data consistent with the number of animals reported to the computer database maintained under the provisions of this law. It is not possible to enter animals such as deer, fallow deer or horses in the application.
