Last year’s first edition of the conference attracted more than 120 participants and showed that green retention is an important, forward-looking topic that requires the exchange of experiences and viewpoints. The organizer, Gdansk Water, is going further and this year invites you to a three-day meeting of industry professionals. Green Retention will be held from June 14 to 16 at the Eagle Hotel, and its theme will be SAVING CITIES. Sign up at www.zielonaretencja.pl .
It is a conference-essence. A vast amount of practical knowledge about the importance of green spaces for stormwater management and treatment. The prevailing approach is to exploit the potential of previously unobvious and overlooked sites.
Meeting-challenge. During the workshop, those responsible for project implementation, maintenance and reconciliation of green retention will learn how to store rainwater in the middle of the city and how to get funding for it.
There will be a theory. Speakers from all over Poland will talk about green solutions used in their cities. They will spare no praise, but there will also be no shortage of time to talk frankly about the difficulties that arise during the implementation of green and blue infrastructure.
There will be practice. The conference combines both theoretical (panel discussions, workshops) and field parts. Topics that will be discussed by a wide range of experts include relieving pressure on stormwater and combined sewers, improving rainwater quality, restoration and protection of wetlands.
There will also be no shortage of opportunities for relaxation. Sobieszewo Island is a peaceful place with a stunning view of the Gdansk Bay and a wide range of opportunities for active recreation.
See you in Gdansk!
