National Student Conference on Underwater Research HYDROCON

The National Student Conference on Underwater Research HYDROCON will take place on April 11–13, 2025, at the UAM Creative Work and Leisure Center in Obrzycko. The event is organized by the Faculty of Biology at Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznań, the Underwater Research Section of the Naturalists’ Scientific Circle, and the Foundation for Scientific Underwater Research. The conference is held under the honorary patronage of the Rector of Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznań, Professor Bogumiła Kaniewska, PhD, DSc.

HYDROCON conference program

HYDROCON is a unique initiative aimed at students from across Poland who are involved in underwater research, water ecology, oceanology, aquatic biology, underwater archaeology, and related scientific fields. The main theme of the conference will be the protection of underwater natural and cultural heritage. The event offers an opportunity to exchange experiences, present research findings, and establish collaborations with other young scientists.

The program includes:

– scientific sessions where participants will have the chance to present their research in the form of talks or posters
– thematic workshops led by experts in the field of underwater research and natural sciences
– meetings with experts offering the opportunity to directly exchange knowledge and experiences with leaders in underwater research
– networking among young scientists from all over Poland who share your passion
– spending a weekend in the former Raczyński family residence, located in a picturesque valley of the Warta River, surrounded by beautiful riparian forests reaching into the Noteć Forest

The organizers have extended the registration deadline – applications to participate in the HYDROCON conference are being accepted until March 24, 2025.

The participation fee is 450 PLN and includes accommodation at the UAM Creative Work and Leisure Center in Obrzycko, meals, and a full set of conference materials. Additionally, there will be a competition for the best oral and poster presentations. The contest is open to young participants who are the first authors and will present their work during the conference.
