On April 20, 2023. An agreement was signed between Bank Gospodarstwa Krajowego and the European Commission for a €242 million InvestEU guarantee. This is a mechanism to directly support investors in financing ventures. BGK will provide investment loans covered by 50% bank guarantees under the InvestEU facility. The loan can be granted up to the value of half the cost of the entire investment. This, along with the guarantee, is a significant help in carrying out the activities.
Agreement launches new European Union funds
The European Union funds covered by the agreement signed in April are for two types of projects: sustainable infrastructure and research, innovation and digitization. The agreement between BGK and the EC unlocks a total of €484 million. National projects financed by these funds should therefore be expected soon.
InvestEU – a program for modern and sustainable investments
The InvestEU program is a financial mechanism that is part of the Next Generation EU to support innovative investments. It serves the goals of the European Green Deal. These funds are expected to provide long-term support for entrepreneurs. One of the key elements of the program is to link it to the EU Taxonomy by emphasizing the sustainability of projects.
