The Strategy for Sustainable Rural, Agricultural and Fisheries Development 2030 is the primary strategic document for agricultural policy and rural development. Now, as part of the work to update it, public consultations have begun and will continue until September 29, 2023. Strategy for Sustainable Development of Rural Areas, Agriculture and Fisheries 2030 – update of the rural development strategy
The updated Strategy for Sustainable Development of Rural Areas, Agriculture and Fisheries 2030 was developed at the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, among others: with the cooperation of 16 provincial teams analyzing opportunities and threats and potential directions of rural development in the provinces until 2030, scientific and research centers of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, the Inter-Ministerial Team for updating the Strategy for Sustainable Development of Rural Areas, Agriculture and Fisheries 2030, which included representatives of various ministries and units subordinate to and supervised by the Ministry of Agriculture.
The document has been widely consulted and reviewed, including, among others. Within the framework of the work of the Council for Social Dialogue in Agriculture, the Coordinating Committee for Development Policy, the Social Committee of the Council of Ministers, the Governmental Analysis Center, the Team for the Development of Agriculture, and the Governmental Committee for the Development of Agriculture. The Committee for the Programming of Government Work, the Joint Commission of the Government and Local Government, the Team for the Programming of Government Work. Rural Areas, Countryside and Agriculture, the Joint Commission of Government and Local Self-Government, as well as at numerous sectoral, regional and supra-regional meetings, workshops and conferences.
The updated Strategy for Sustainable Rural Development, Agriculture and Fisheries 2030 includes measures consistent with the goals of the “Long-term Vision for Rural Areas in the EU 2040” and the resulting “Rural Pact,” the “Action Plan for Stimulating Sustainable, Cohesive and Integrated Rural Development,” and the “Polish Rural Deal.”
Strategy for sustainable development of rural areas, agriculture and fisheries 2030 – course of work on strategy update
The Strategy for Sustainable Development of Rural Areas, Agriculture and Fisheries 2030 is currently being updated in the Parliamentary Committee on Agriculture and Rural Development. Information was presented on support for the development of this sector and related areas. Also discussed were the settlements arising from the provisions of the Strategy for Responsible Development 2030, sector strategies and the Partnership Agreement for 2021-2027.
On July 14, 2023. The Chief Sanitary Inspector has agreed not to conduct a strategic environmental assessment for the changes that the updated Strategy for Sustainable Development of Rural Areas, Agriculture and Fisheries 2030 contains. Also in July, the General Director of Environmental Protection agreed on the possibility of waiving the strategic environmental assessment of changes to the strategy under Art. 48 par. 1 and 4 of the Law of October 3, 2008.
