The goal of the Rural Energy program is to increase the use of renewable energy sources (RES) in rural and rural-urban municipalities. Under the program, farmers and energy cooperatives can apply for funding for RES-related investments.
The program is intended to contribute to the energy transition in rural areas in a sustainable manner – without restricting the development of agricultural and food production. Implementation of the program is expected to increase access to RES investments for farmers and all those interested in cooperating within the framework of energy cooperatives, thus contributing to lowering the cost of obtaining energy for rural residents.
The total budget for the “Energy for the Countryside” program is 1 billion zlotys. The first intake has already started on January 25 and will last until December 15. The budget for it is PLN 100 million, and the money can be disbursed in the form of grants or loans.
When applying for subsidies, you can apply for support for investments in the construction of hydroelectric power plants, installations for the generation of energy from agricultural biogas under conditions of high-efficiency cogeneration and energy storage.
The loan can be obtained by applying for money for investments in the construction of: hydroelectric power plants, installations for the generation of energy from agricultural biogas under conditions of high-efficiency cogeneration, wind and photovoltaic installations.
The beneficiaries of the program are not only farmers. Energy cooperatives and their members can also apply for support. In the case of subsidies for photovoltaic or wind turbine installations, it is possible to apply for a loan of up to 100% of eligible costs, and in the case of biogas plants and hydroelectric power plants it is also possible to apply for a grant of up to 65% of eligible costs.
