Under the operation “Investments to protect waters from nitrate pollution from agricultural sources,” specifically the sub-measure “Support for investments in agricultural holdings,” covered by the Rural Development Program 2014 – 2020 (RDP 2014 – 2020), farmers who are engaged in agricultural activities in the field of livestock production can apply for financial assistance.
Agricultural producers can receive funding for investments that will serve to adapt their farms to the requirements set forth in the so-called “farmer’s subsidy”. nitrate program (“Program of measures to reduce water pollution by nitrates from agricultural sources and prevent further pollution”), related to storage of natural fertilizers (or silage – in the case of young farmers), as well as for retrofitting farms with equipment for applying liquid natural fertilizers.
December 20, 2022 The provisions of the Ordinance of the Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development dated December 9, 2022, amending the Ordinance on detailed conditions and procedures for granting and paying financial assistance for this type of investment, came into force. The changes introduced allow, among other things, an increase in the amount of aid from the 100000 PLN 150 000 to PLN 150 000 PLN per beneficiary or per farm, streamlining the process of granting aid and accounting for operations by introducing a new form of aid, i.e. standard unit rates for the construction of tanks and slabs for storing natural fertilizers.
The increased limit can benefit:
- farmers who applied for aid in the call conducted in late 2021 and early 2022, but were not processed (i.e., no aid agreement was concluded);
- beneficiaries who, prior to the date of entry into force of the provisions of the amended Executive Order, entered into aid contracts and did not receive a final payment.
In 2023. It is planned to launch two calls for proposals for this type of operation, in the first and second half of the year. According to the current schedule of the RDP 2014 – 2020, the call for applications under the operation “Investments to protect waters from nitrate pollution from agricultural sources” will be held in February and June 2023.
