This is the third edition of the “Critical Infrastructure of Cities” conference. The two previous successful ones brought together many great personalities from the world of science and business. It is not only a forum for the exchange of experiences, but above all a place where the latest technologies are presented and useful knowledge is passed on. Therefore, the event is highly rated by participants. This year, too, you can count on a solid dose of extremely practical and interesting information in such areas as the safety of water, sewage, power, gas and ICT systems.
The “Critical Infrastructure of Cities” conference will be held on October 23-25, 2023. in Rytro (Beskid Sądecki, Malopolska), where the most sensitive topics will be addressed amidst beautiful mountain nature. Participants will jointly try to solve the problems of complex critical infrastructure securing the vital interests of the country’s economy and its people.
This year’s edition is a continuation of the previous two, successfully implemented in 2018 and 2021. The interdisciplinary nature of the exchange of views and experiences is of inestimable value, allowing many key issues to be discussed, as well as providing a method for mutual education of many communities, from the institutions managing and administering critical infrastructure, through the scientific, planning, design and implementation communities, ending with control institutions and government and local government structures of the emergency management system.
The “Critical Infrastructure of Cities” conference is held under the auspices of leading scientific units from all over the country, in particular the AGH University of Science and Technology, Warsaw University of Technology, Krakow University of Technology, Krakow Agricultural University, the Fire Academy in Warsaw and the Academy of Applied Sciences in Nowy Sacz. In addition, the event is once again supported by the Government Safety Center, the Polish Waterworks Chamber of Commerce, the Association of Polish Electricians and the Polish Association of Sanitary Engineers and Technicians.
Conference “Critical Infrastructure of Cities” 2023 – current status and plans
This year’s Conference will address the current and most sensitive issues and challenges facing critical infrastructure operators.
Representatives of water, power and gas utilities will meet to share experiences and discuss necessary changes towards ensuring technical and cyber security of utility industries in the context of the new NIS2 directive and towards Industry 4.0. The session will showcase new water and wastewater treatment technologies, solutions to achieve energy independence and artificial intelligence systems for key industries.
In addition, we will look at energy policy and the requirements resulting from regulatory changes, including those relating to drinking water quality and the changes that the new wastewater directive places on wastewater treatment plants. Participants will have the opportunity to learn new methods Balancing water and energy losses and solving the problem of rainwater in practice. The topic of sustainability (ESG) reporting will also be featured for the first time.
Conference “Critical Infrastructure of Cities” 2023 – practical workshop
The “Critical Infrastructure of Cities” conference is not only a time to exchange views and experiences, but also a place where you can benefit from practical workshops. This year’s participants will include technical workshops on such topics as. Innovative methods of balancing and reducing water losses on the example of pilot solutions at the Sądeckie Wodociągi Company and concerning early warning solutions for poor water quality.
